Find the cause before choosing the repair
A door that will not open or close can have a mechanical problem, an opener fault or an obstruction. Tell us what happens when you try to operate it, whether the motor runs, and whether the door appears uneven. Avoid repeatedly cycling a struggling door.
Springs, cables and balance
Broken springs, damaged cables and balance problems affect the way a door lifts. An inspection helps determine which components need attention and whether related wear should be addressed at the same visit.
Tracks, rollers and hinges
An off-track door, damaged rollers or worn hinges may cause binding, scraping or unusual noise. Keep people clear of a crooked or partially supported door and request professional service.
Opener problems
If the motor runs but the door does not move, or the door reverses unexpectedly, the door and opener should be evaluated together. Safety sensors, controls and travel settings can also affect operation.
